Taksa

Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 22, 2026

Summary

Taksa is a free liturgical reference app. We collect no personal data, we have no user accounts, and we have no advertising. We do collect anonymous, device-level usage analytics to understand which sections of the app are most useful and to fix crashes. That's it.

What we collect

Anonymous usage analytics, via PostHog — a privacy-respecting analytics service. Events include things like: which liturgical section you opened, which audio track was played, when the app crashed, and what version of the app + operating system you're on. PostHog assigns a randomly generated, anonymous device identifier; we do not tie it to any name, email, address, or other identifying information.

What we don't collect

Audio downloads

Hymn and chant audio is streamed on-demand from assets.taksa.app and cached on your device for offline playback. The CDN logs standard request information (IP address, user-agent, requested file) for ~24 hours for abuse prevention; logs are not tied to any user identity and are deleted automatically.

Push notifications

Push notifications are not used in the current version. The capability is registered with the operating system but no notifications are sent.

Children's privacy

Taksa does not knowingly collect any data from anyone under 13. The app collects no personal information from anyone of any age.
